The Youth Grantmaking Board at Christ’s Church Rye

Meet the 2021 Board

Our 2021 board began online in February 2021 before moving to in-person meetings in the summer. They live in Rye, Port Chester, and Harrison. Some are parishioners at Christ’s Church; some are not. We will begin accepting applications for our next year’s board in January 2022— if you are interested in this opportunity, please write to us at ygb@ccrye.org and introduce yourself!

  • Carolina Deus

Carolina is an 11th grade student at Greenwich Country Day School. She is a lifelong resident of Port Chester. She joined the YGB because she wanted to gain knowledge and experience in the grantmaking and grantwriting world. Carolina enjoys getting to meet new people through the YGB and feels more connected to the Port Chester community as a result of her participation in the YGB. Carolina runs cross country and enjoys reading and writing.

  • Daniel Pellegrini

Daniel is an 11th grade student at Rye High School. He is a lifelong resident of Rye. He became a member of the YGB because he wanted to have a greater understanding of how to maintain and finance different services and projects. Daniel has been a member of the Resurrection Church in Rye for his whole life. Daniel runs cross country and track and is a Life Scout in Rye Troop 2.

  • Lauren Kim

Lauren is an 11th grade student at Rye Country Day School and a resident of Rye. She applied to join the YGB because it seemed like a good opportunity to be able to have an impact on her community on a larger scale than she had before. She is a member of Christ’s Church Rye. Lauren likes to dance, read, and is a loyal patron of Starbucks.

  • Letizia Vito

Letizia is an 11th grade student at Port Chester High School. She has lived in Port Chester her whole life. Letizia decided to join the YGB to get a better understanding of the grant process. • Korbii Reiff

Korbii is a 10th grade student at Harrison High School. He currently lives in Harrison and used to live in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Korbii was excited to join the YGB because he wanted to explore the grantmaking process because of the possibility that he will be writing grant requests in the future. He is a parishioner at Christ’s Church Rye. Korbii is an avid reader, a member of the varsity swim team, and a frequent user of ornate language.

Our 2021 Grantees

The Youth Grantmaking Board was grateful to be able to award $15,000 in grants to seven organizations that serve residents of Port Chester. They received more than twenty applications totaling more than $130,000 in requested funds. Thank you to everyone who submitted proposals to us, and congratulations to this year’s grantees!
