By train (Metro-North), from Grand Central

You are taking the Stamford Local, a New Haven Line train, to Rye. Caution: Trains all the way to New Haven are express trains that do not stop in Rye. You need to get on a local train to Stamford.

You will find departure times on the New Haven Line board at Grand Central or you can call 1-800-METRO GO. You can also follow this link to the Metro North website:

http://as0.mta.info/mnr/schedules/sched_form.cfm

Once you've gotten to Rye, exit the train and walk down the platform in the opposite direction of the train. Exit the platform and continue walking in the same direction, down a short road that leads you to Purchase Street, the Main Street of Rye. Turn left and walk for a few blocks until the commercial district ends. You will see a Citibank in front of you at a fork in the road. Behind it, you will see the steeple of Christ's Church. Take the left fork (Milton Road) for the Parish House; the right fork (Rte. 1 -- Boston Post Road) for the church.

Walking should take 7-10 minutes. There are usually taxis available at the station, at the end of the platform. They are large and black and don't look like taxis.
